The Gilded Blade by Jennifer Lynn Barnes.
“Every game must end.” Like every game, every book series must have a finale; it must end. Puzzles must be solved, characters must be saved and villains must be ended. The one thing that doesn’t end or must not end is the romance between the characters. ‘The Gilded Blade’ is the final book to the marvellous and sensational ‘The Inheritance Games’ series. This book only just came out a few weeks ago and it is with great sadness to realise that there will be no more books to be written and published in this series. However, the fact that this final book was so, so spectacular has put my heart at ease. As I said before: the romance will never end. The romantic pairs intertwined in this thrilling, edge-of-your-seat series are absolutely incredible. They are so spot-on and it makes the books so much more worth reading. In this particular book, there were definitely some incredible ships sailing (much to my pleasure). Throughout this book, I have realised that the quality of the content is a very important factor for me when it comes to listing my favourites. Sometimes, it will be the first book that is great but then the others will just go downhill. However, this is not the case for ‘The Gilded Blade’. This is by far the most perfect and amazing finale of one of the most brilliant series. From stunning characters to agonising plot twists, the book has something for everyone. Though it would be good for you to read the first book to the series first. Overall, a must read and definitely one of my highlights of this week. Reviewed by Melody Lian, Year 9 |
